Located in beautiful Dubuque

Located in the naturally scenic, progressive, and historic Mississippi River community of Dubuque, Iowa, Creative Dubuque editing service is the brainchild of one woman who cares about quality wordsmithing. I live in a ramshackle Victorian-era house with four cats and too many books, ten minutes from the Mississippi River.

After working as a college composition tutor, in book publishing, as an online bookseller, as a technical editor in consumer electronics, and as a freelance writer and proofreader, I realized that other people often need writing help. I decided to create this website to share my expertise. I'm glad you found me!

My background

I earned a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Northern Iowa. I also attended the University of Iowa. After spending several years as a stay-at-home mother, I completed a program in desktop publishing. Born and raised in the Midwest, I enjoy using my written communication skills to help others succeed.

I offer excellent knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling, with an eye for consistency and accuracy of detail. English is my native language, and I have experience working with international ESL students. I'm familiar with standard college essay assignments, including research papers (MLA, APA).

My computer skills include extensive experience using Microsoft Word 2007. I've also received training in desktop publishing software such as Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. I can use my computer skills to make your writing stand out professionally.
